Robin Chadwell

Loving

My skin pulls
away from my bones.

I would crack my own sternum
if I could.

The desire to shatter oneself—
to know

something
greater than form.

All I ask
is you don’t sweep me up

and toss me in the bin.
Rather,

throw me like bread crumbs
to the crows, or

blow me away
like seeds of a dandelion.
