Characters

Black water, you told me everything I lost
would come back.  Bobbing and swirling. I dreamt of
severed heads, tried to stick myself back together.
The record player said I’d fall to pieces. Thought I saw your face today
and what a sight you were

We don’t fit anymore; the soldier and the bohemian. Did you put my love
in the little box like I asked?

I know you Pandora, only did it to torture you. Broke my fingers, added
them and added them up.

Been gone so long, I’ve lost count. You stooped down to pick up my words as they fell, silently.

Stranger

Two parts of me got married today
Binding in ugly matrimony
Turn your back for I am impure
Empty, my panels run coarse and thick
Trapped on heavy legs. Heavy day, now a screech
The blank wall streams salt
